2013

Four decades of research into peer bullying have produced an extensive body of knowledge. This work attempts to provide an integrative theoretical framework, which includes the specific theories and observations. The main aim is to organize the available knowledge in order to guide the development of effective interventions. To that end, several psychological theories are described that have been used and/or adapted with the aim of understanding peer bullying. All of them, at different ecological levels and different stages of the process, may describe it in terms of the relational dynamics of power. It is concluded that research needs to take this integrative framework into account, that i…

Attitudes towards authority and violence among adolescents: Differences according to gender

2015

The Mediating Role of Classroom Climate on School Violence

2021

Mediation analysis has been confirmed as a very useful statistical tool in the social sciences, especially in school-related studies. This type of analysis was used in the present study to examine the mediating role of classroom climate (measured with the classroom environmental scale), categorized into three dimensions, namely involvement, affiliation, and teacher support, on the relationship between peer victimization and peer aggression. The participants consisted of 2011 adolescents (50.67% boys and 49.32% girls), aged between 12 and 18 years old (M = 14.17

Relationships between peer violence and child to parent violence

2018

[EN] Peer violence and child to parent violence are two current problems that have serious psychosocial consequences for both victims and perpetrators. Despite their incidence and severity during the adolescence, few studies have explored the possible relationships between both types of violence. Thus, the aim of the present study was to explore these relationships, comparing peer violence, both manifest (direct) and relational (indirect) aggressions, in adolescents with problems of child to parent violence and adolescents who do not exercise child to parent violence. 66 adolescents living in two juvenile re-education centers for reasons of child to parent violence and another 66 secondary …
